October 16 marks World Food Day—a global call to ensure that everyone, everywhere, has access to safe and nutritious food. This year’s theme, “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future”, reminds us that ending hunger takes teamwork, compassion, and collective action.

How Esports Embodies “Hand in Hand”

Through the GEF × WFP ShareTheMeal initiative, we’re transforming that digital spirit into real-world action. Just like in the game, impact multiplies when we play together. From October to December 2025, the #worldconnected community is rallying to raise 50,000 meals through WFP’s ShareTheMeal platform and app—transforming awareness into immediate impact.
