Los Angeles Welcomes the World: A New Era for Global Esports
50 days to the Opening Ceremony of the Global Esports Games in Los Angeles

From Singapore to Los Angeles, the Global Esports Games has become a celebration of national pride, human connection, and the extraordinary power of a generation that finds common ground through games.
Los Angeles has a long history of turning big ideas into global movements. 2026 is America’s 250th anniversary and the year of the FIFA World Cup, and the city will also host another defining international spectacle, the Los Angeles 2026 Global Esports Games (GEGLA26) from 1 to 7 December, with the Opening Ceremony on 4 December.
The Global Esports Games represents something bigger than individual titles or tournaments. It is the Global Esports Federation’s flagship competition between national teams. Athletes compete for their flag and their country, and for a place among the best in the world. Across seven esports titles, including iRacing featuring Ferrari, GEGLA26 will fill Los Angeles with a week of competition, technology, entertainment, and youth culture.
Athletes and teams from 118 countries and territories took part in qualification. That reach says a lot about what this movement stands for: equality, diversity, fair play, inclusion, and innovation. Since the first Games in Singapore, the event has moved on to Istanbul, Riyadh, and Mumbai, connecting communities and opening doors for emerging talent in each.
GEGLA26 is also a festival. Visitors can expect multiple stages, fierce national rivalries, hands-on experiences, and the GEFestival, which brings esports together with music, art, film, and the creative industries. Leaders from sport, esports, technology, and entertainment will join the athletes, fans, and innovators in one of the world’s great cultural capitals.
GEGLA26 is another remarkable chapter in an exceptional run for Los Angeles, a decade of global sporting prominence that includes the FIFA World Cup in 2026, Super Bowl LXI in 2027, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028.
For the Global Esports Federation, GEGLA26 reflects a simple belief: technology can bring people closer, and competition can build bridges between cultures, generations, and borders.
This December, the world comes to Los Angeles to play, and to belong.
One global stage. Many nations. Infinite possibilities. #worldconnected
