Global Esports Federation signs Strategic Framework Agreement with Azerbaijan Esports Federation

Agreement unites efforts to cultivate esports excellence in Azerbaijan and beyond

The Global Esports Federation and the Azerbaijan Esports Federation have signed a 10-year Strategic Framework Agreement, solidifying a collaborative effort to chart a dynamic course for the advancement of esports in the country. The signing ceremony was held in the vibrant capital city of Baku, attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov.

Paul J. Foster, CEO of the Global Esports Federation, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to embark on this journey with the Azerbaijan Esports Federation. This partnership aligns with GEF’s vision to accelerate the growth and development of esports and we are confident that together, we will create lasting impact in the region.”

Adil Mahmudov, President, Azerbaijan Esports Federation, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the significance of this collaboration for the local esports community, “This partnership is a testament to our commitment to nurturing our youth and emerging esports talent, providing them with exceptional opportunities. We look forward to welcoming the world to Azerbaijan.”

Under this strategic partnership, both parties will work hand in hand to shape a roadmap that will pave the way for the development and expansion of esports in Azerbaijan and beyond. The partnership includes tangible initiatives for athletes, youth and community-focused initiatives, and staging innovative local, regional, and global esports events.
