The inaugural Global Esports Games took place on 18–19 December 2021 at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore, bringing together more than 100 esports athletes from around the world for the first edition of the Global Esports Federation’s flagship international competition.
The Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games featured competition across three titles: Dota 2, eFootball 2022, and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, with players and teams qualifying through national and regional pathways to reach the global finals.
Alongside the competition, the GEFcon convened leading voices from across esports, sport, technology, business, and government to explore the opportunities shaping the future of the industry.
The event also extended into the city through the GEFestival, where fans gathered to watch live match broadcasts and celebrate esports culture.
As the first edition of the Global Esports Games, Singapore marked an important milestone in bringing together the global esports community for international competition, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
