Countdown to Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games

Titles locked-in as the community gears up for the first GEG

The Global Esports Federation confirms major esports titles for the Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games. The esports competition will feature PC MOBA title: Dota 2 (Valve), and Console titles: eFootball PES 2021 (Konami), and Street Fighter V (Capcom). The first Global Esports Games will kick off with the Opening Ceremony on December 17 and conclude on December 19, 2021.

The esports titles were confirmed following the first Team Preparation Guide Briefing, led by Chester King, GEF Vice-President and Co-Chair of the Technical, Standards & Properties Commission.

“The Global Esports Games will further elevate esports on the world stage. We are proud to feature some of the world’s leading esports titles at the first ever GEG. We look forward to gathering our Member Federations and the world’s esports community at the global headquarters of the GEF in Singapore.” ~ Chester King.

The Team Preparation Guide Briefing was joined by Chris Chan, GEF President, GEF Board Members and Executive Office, members of the Technical, Standards & Properties Commission, and over 100 attendees from Member Federations across the world.

The Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games will feature Demonstration Events, showcasing Active Esports, including Freestriker, developed in collaboration with GEF Global Partner, Refract Technologies. Freestriker is an immersive, non-contact virtual sport played using a precise, real-time motion tracking system called AXIS, which maps the player’s full-body movements to turn martial arts skills into a dynamic, exciting, virtual competition.

In parallel, GEFcon, the global convention of thought leaders, and the GEFestival, which offers a dynamic celebration of esports culture highlighting music, art, technology, fashion, food, and much more, promises to add to the diverse, immersive and robust world-class program.

The next Team Preparation Guide Briefing will be held on August 26, 2021.
